Scrumping A long time ago when I was a girl, I lived in a small village. I had two special friends called Tom and James. We played games together every day after school and every Saturday and Sunday. At one end of our village lived a grumpy old man. He was called Major Brown, he complained about everything but mostly about us. We were too noisy, too nosey and too nasty – according to him. He lived all by himself in an enormous house with a large garden which included an orchard. |

National
Book Day, Children’s Book Week, Writers’ Squads,
school
visits and user groups can all provide a focus for storytelling in
libraries. Christine has experience of working in libraries all over
the world, including Birmingham Central Library where she told stories
for a project on the Second World War, and San Antonio Texas, where she
worked with young library users as part of the outreach work of a
literature festival.
